Charge Mate Pro: Efficient Battery Bank Management
The Charge Mate Pro efficiently distributes charger or alternator current between two battery banks, such as a starter battery and a service battery. It connects both batteries during charging and isolates them during discharging, significantly reducing the risk of a flat starter battery.
Unlike mechanical charge relays, the Charge Mate Pro limits the charge current to the second battery, giving priority to the primary battery, such as the starter battery. It also automatically blocks return current even if the secondary battery has a higher voltage. Additionally, an emergency start function is available by connecting an optional bypass switch to the Charge Mate Pro.
In marine applications, the Charge Mate Pro is ideal for connecting a bow thruster battery to a service battery, ensuring the service battery is charged first. It prevents power dips in the onboard electrical network by blocking return current from the bow thruster battery and limiting the charge current.
The Charge Mate Pro series includes 40 Amp and 90 Amp versions, suitable for both charger and alternator applications.
